Clifton’s Cafeteria

There’s a lot of history behind Clifton’s Cafeteria located on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles. Hard to believe, but there once was a Golden Age of Cafeterias, an age that Clifton’s was a part of. Clifton’s was the world’s largest public cafeteria, and is now reopened to the public with new experiences and a new menu. Clifton’s is a multi-story dining experience, with highly themed restaurants and bars. The Forest Glen dining room has been fully restored, and houses the original fantasy environment that inspired Walt Disney to create Disneyland. Dining in the great hall, you can easily see how Disney was inspired to create Frontier Land.

Menu options at the Cafeteria include American classics like meat loaf, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes – but you can also enjoy fresh pasta dishes, sushi, and wood fire pizzas. Opening late this year, the Pacific Seas dining room will feature authentic South Seas artifacts, live performers and Polynesian inspired cuisine. It’s safe to say that Clifton’s is one of the most unique restaurants in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Fish

Located in the basement of the historic Pershing Square building, Mrs. Fish offers a cozy environment for guests to relax and unwind. The large overhead aquarium and luxurious velvet curtains provide uniquely romantic surroundings. The menu features small plates including chicken satay and Caprese Crostad, and main plates like fish and chips and a New York steak with chimichurri. Seating is not traditional, so don’t expect a booth or dinner table. Instead guests sit back and relax in comfortable lounge chairs while enjoying live music. After your meal, take the elevator upstairs to the Perch, where guests can enjoy a perfect view of Downtown Los Angeles.

Public Kitchen & Bar

Located in the lobby of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Public Kitchen & Bar serves quality food in a unique setting. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel opened its doors in 1927, and is now the oldest continually operating hotel in Los Angeles. Built during the Golden Era of Los Angeles architecture, the hotel was done in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. It’s beautiful archways, high ceilings, and wrought-iron chandeliers provide the perfect setting for a special evening out. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes and specialty cocktails as they marvel at the colorful tiled fountains.

The menu at Public Kitchen & Bar features everything from small plates to pork chops and steak frittes.
