Marvel’s latest film, Doctor Strange just viewed for critics in New York and Los Angeles and they’re in love. The trailer was enough to demonstrate that this film would be unlike any other in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but now we know what the critics think.

About the Film

Doctor Strange will be the 14th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson, who also wrote the screenplay with C. Robert Cargill. Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbath (Star Trek), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Rachel McAdams (The Notebook) and Tilda Swinton (Narnia).

Doctor Strange is a Marvel comic about surgeon Stephen Strange and his discovery of the mystic arts after a career-ending car accident. Doctor Strange first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in July 1963. In the comic, Strange serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats.

I wouldn’t put #DoctorStrange in Marvel’s top five but it’s an entertaining movie with big ideas, gorgeous CGI and unique action sequences.
