Go Inside the Haunted Mansion Holiday and Discover What’s New for 2016

Each September Disneyland imagineers get to work on the Haunted Mansion, transforming it into Jack Skellington’s winter playground. All your favorite characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas take over the mansion, and high jinks ensue. The attraction is less creepy, and more joyful, even if the gifts contain creepy crawlers.

This year, imagineers brought to life Sally with a full sized animatronic figure. She can be found in the graveyard scene, blinking and gazing at Jack in all his Christmas glory. Look out for other famous characters from the film, including zero and Oogie Boogie. One of the best parts of the Haunted Mansion Holiday is the opening scene in the first room. Instead of viewing the master hanging, Jack greets you with a special holiday inspired opening.

Another great addition to the ride during the holidays is the smell of Christmas cookies piped in during the dinner scene. Watch ghosts dance around the the Christmas tree, and take note of this year’s gingerbread house.
