Three Ways to Achieve Perfect Eyebrows

Perfect Eyebrows Are In Reach No Matter How Patchy

Unless you’re #blessed with perfect eyebrows – giving everyone envy with your naturally bushy, thick, voluminous eyebrows that require very little upkeep – you’ve probably been filling in your eyebrows.

Getting the perfect “on-fleek” eyebrow shape, even with makeup, is hard. You could spend hundreds of dollars a year on gels, liners, and other Anastasia of Beverly Hills products and still not achieve the perfect brow.

And don’t even think about going into a pool and expecting your eyebrows to still be there when you resurface…

Here are a few different (non-makeup) semi-permanent ways you can achieve that perfect eyebrow look the celebs have without needing to constantly fill-in (and wash off) your brows each day.

eyebrow tintingEyebrow Tinting

Stuck with light or thin eyebrows? Eyebrow tinting is a (very) semi-permanent solution to your lack-luster eyebrow shape!  There are salons that specialize in Eyebrow Tinting services, Eyebrow Tinting kits you can purchase in-store and online ($20-$30), or you can create the mixture yourself at home with just a couple ingredients.

Eyebrow tint is basically just brown or black henna, usually mixed with a low (5-10) volume crème developer.  The mixture is strategically placed on your eyebrows in your desired shape, left on for a long period of time (usually 20-30 minutes) and rinsed off.

Tips:

1. Your eyebrows must be completely clean and free of oil before tinting for it to work best.

2. The longer you leave it on, the better it works in most cases.

3.Try to avoid directly washing or placing oils on your eyebrows for prolonged results.

4. Eyebrow gels like ETUDE’s gel tint (which is peel-off) can be purchased online and is really easy to apply and remove. It comes in a small tube with the applicator already inside (like mascara) and comes in three different shades.

eyebrow microblading

Eyebrow Microblading

Eyebrow Microblading is a slightly more permanent (still semi-permanent) solution to your eyebrow needs.  The procedure takes roughly 2 hours to complete and lasts up to 3 years.  So what is it? Well, its a tattoo of sorts…a semi-permanent, gradually fading, meticulous and small, tattoo.  Eyebrow Microblading should only be done by a professional microblader, and involves using a special tool called a microblading pen to meticulously and carefully draw on tiny single strands of hair.

The process starts with first test-drawing the individual eyebrow hairs on the client with a removable pencil to give the client a customized look.  Once the client is satisfied with the shape and look, a topical numbing cream and topical anesthetic are used to numb the eyebrow area.  Finally, each line of “hair” is traced with the microblading pen during a relatively painless procedure.

Although the process is longer and more painful than tinting, it can be washed, touched and rubbed without any worry of smearing or removal.  The cost of Microblading is roughly about $700-800 but may be worth it to be able to say you “woke up like this”.

The results speak for itself.

eyebrow extensionsEyebrow extensions

Eyebrow extensions can be done at a brow-service salon. The process is done by meticulously placing tiny synthetic hairs on your eyebrows with a skin-safe eyebrow glue.  The synthetic hair is individually placed one at a time until the perfect shape is created.

The full service usually takes around 2 hours to complete and 24 hours to fully set, and costs roughly $250.  Although, if you’re only adding a few hairs you can expect to pay between $50 – $180 and the process will require less time.

It’s important to note that eyebrow extensions are difficult to maintain and preserve. They only last from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.  Eyebrow extensions aren’t a budget friendly option, but can act as a quick fix for an upcoming event or photo shoot.

Now that you know your options, go out there and get yourself a pair of on-fleek eyebrows that best fit you and your budget!
