Find Out What’s New to Discover at Disney Parks This Holiday Season

The holidays are the most magical time of year, and the perfect time to visit a Disney park. There’s so much to see and do at all the Disney parks during the holidays including special parades, fireworks spectaculars, themed attractions and more. There’s nothing like celebrating Christmas at Disneyland. Walt’s first theme park does Christmas in a major way with more twinkling lights than you’ve ever seen before. Check out Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, covered in magical snow icicles for the holiday season. The Believe fireworks show is back this year, and so is the snowflake finale. Also back this year is the Christmas Fantasy parade featuring floats, music, marching tin soldiers and more. Santa can be found waving from a float or greeting guests in Critter Country. If you missed the Haunted Mansion Holiday during Halloween at the park, check it out while it lasts. Other themed attractions include It’s a Small World Holiday and the Jingle Cruise. Make sure to get a picture with the soaring Christmas tree in Town Square on Main Street.

Christmas at California Adventure Park

After enjoying Christmas at Disneyland check out at the park across the way. Christmas at California Adventure is bigger and better this year. It’s the debut of Elena of Avalor at the park, and they’re welcoming her in a big way. Check out the new Festival of the Holidays, which celebrates holiday festivities of cultures from around the world with food, music, dance and craft-making. The set up is similar to the Food & Wine Festival with food stands lining the path from Carthay Circle to the Parkway Grill where Elena will be greeting guests and posing for pictures. Make sure to check out the new parade while at the park. Plan to stay late to catch World of Color – Season of Light. The show features 1,200 powerful fountains shooting water 200 feet high into the air.

Christmas at Magic Kingdom Park

The Magic Kingdom Park guests a complete holiday overhaul in November. The streets are lined with tinsel, red bows and twinkling lights. Walt Disney World guests have the opportunity to enjoy a private Christmas party at the park. Purchase tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to enjoy shorter lines, better views of the fireworks and Christmas parade, and free cookies and hot chocolate. The Holiday Wishes fireworks show is spectacular. New this year is Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, a live show starring Mickey and friends in front of Cinderella’s Castle. If your little ones love Frozen, stay for A Frozen Holiday Wish, a holiday show featuring all your favorite characters from the animated film.

Similar to California Adventure Park, Christmas at Epcot will showcase holidays from around the world. Guests of Epcot can enjoy food and classic traditions from across the globe. Check out Epcot’s Candlelight Processional for a cherished retelling of the Christmas story featuring celebrity narrators, a 50-piece orchestra and choir.

Christmas at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

While many are saddened by the loss of the Osborne Spectacle of Lights at the park, this year the park is featuring a new holiday spectacular called Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! The show includes state-of-the-art projections, fireworks, special effects and Christmas music.

Tokoyo Disneyland will be transformed during Christmas with holiday trees and holiday photo locations throughout the themed lands. Take in the Disney Christmas Stories Parade which features seven stories including Frozen, Mickey and Friends and Toy Story. Classic attractions have been transformed for the holidays including the Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare and the Country Bear Theater Jingle Bell Jamboree. Tokyo DisneySea is celebrating it’s 15th anniversary with a Christmas show on the waters of the Mediterranean Harbor called Colors of Christmas: Nighttime Wishes.

Disneyland Paris is decked out in festive decor including a giant Christmas tree. Catch Disney’s Christmas Parade on Main Street, U.S.A. with yuletide performers and two festive floats. At night, snuggle up in a blanket and watch Disney Dreams! Of Christmas a nighttime spectacular featuring your favorite characters from Disney’s Frozen.
