New Disney Christmas Show Announced

A new Disney Christmas show is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this November

For over 20 years the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights lit up the Streets of America at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park. Hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights were strung each year during holidays at the park for guests to walk through and enjoy. The show included holiday music and a variety of special effects.

In 2015 Disney announced the show would be retiring as the Streets of America would be torn down to make room for Star Wars and Toy Story attractions. Walking through the decorations last year was bitter sweet, knowing that this was the final time they’d glitter and shine.

New Christmas Show at Hollywood Studios

Today, Disney announced a new Christmas show would be replacing the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at its Hollywood Studios Park. The show will take place upon the park’s Chinese Theater, a replica of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.

The show is being called “Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam” and will incorporate elements from other successful Disney Parks shows including fireworks, projections, music and snow.

The new Disney Christmas show will star Wayne, Lanny and other Christmas elves from ABC’s animated special “Prep & Landing.” It will also feature characters from classic Disney films including “Beauty and the Beast,” “Bambi,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” Mickey’s Christmas Carol” and “Pluto’s Christmas Tree,” according to the official Disney Parks Blog.

“Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam” will replace the currently running nightly spectacular “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” during the holidays. The new holiday production will run nightly from November 14th through December 31st.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Dessert Party

One way guests can make the evening at the park special is to purchase tickets to the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Dessert Party. Your ticket will include reserved viewing, so that you can spend more time enjoying the park and less time standing around reserving a spot. Party guests will enjoy delicious desserts, specialty beverages and more. Each guest will receive a free pair of 3D HoloSpex glasses to use during the show for added surprises.
